Light furniture: such as small chairs, coffee tables, bedside tables, etc., the weight is generally about 5 – 20 kg, usually using a three-layer corrugated cardboard box. The thickness of the three-layer corrugated box is generally about 3 – 5 mm, and it has a certain compressive strength and cushioning performance, which can meet the protection needs of this type of furniture during transportation and storage.
Medium-sized furniture: like ordinary dining tables, wardrobes, desks, etc., weighing between 20 – 50 kg, it is recommended to use a five-layer corrugated cardboard box. The five-layer corrugated box has a thickness of about 7 – 10 mm, which has better resistance to pressure and impact, which can effectively protect the furniture from damage during handling and transportation.
Heavy-duty furniture: For heavy furniture weighing more than 50 kg, such as large wardrobes, solid wood sofas, pianos, etc., a seven-layer corrugated box is usually required. With a thickness of around 10 – 15 mm, the seven-layer corrugated box has high strength and rigidity, and is able to withstand high pressure and impact forces, providing reliable packaging protection for heavy furniture.
If the furniture is exported, it is also necessary to consider the impact of long transportation such as sea freight and different environmental conditions, it may be necessary to choose thicker and better quality cartons, or add additional cushioning materials such as foam boards, air cushion films, etc. inside the cartons to enhance the protective performance of the packaging. In addition, for some fragile or fragile furniture parts, such as glass, ceramics, etc., special packaging treatment is also required in the carton to ensure their safe transportation.
